About the Workshops
San Diego Community Power is hosting a series of no-cost, in-person workshops with Home Energy Academy to help customers better understand home solar and battery storage and determine whether these systems may be a good fit for their household.
The workshops will provide approachable, unbiased education about how solar and battery storage work, what customers should consider when evaluating a system and available resources, like Solar Battery Savings, that may help make these systems more accessible.
The workshops are intended to provide broader education about solar and battery storage and are not exclusive to customers interested in Community Power’s Solar Battery Savings program.

Community Power’s Role
Community Power is organizing the workshops as part of our efforts to help customers better understand clean energy opportunities and connect them with programs and resources that can help lower electricity costs.
The workshops also provide an opportunity to introduce interested customers to Solar Battery Savings, a Community Power program that helps eligible residential customers lower the upfront cost of installing a new solar and battery system or adding battery storage to an existing solar system.
While Solar Battery Savings will be discussed as one available opportunity, the workshops are designed to provide broader solar and battery education regardless of whether a customer ultimately participates in the program.
Home Energy Academy’s Role
Community Power is partnering with Home Energy Academy to provide educational content and guidance during the workshops.
Home Energy Academy will help attendees understand the fundamentals of residential solar and battery storage, including how they work together and important factors to consider when determining whether a system makes sense for their home.
The goal is to give attendees practical information they can use to ask informed questions, evaluate their options and feel more confident about navigating decisions around solar and battery storage.
