Food Not Bombs San Diego

FNB is an all-volunteer global movement that shares free vegan & vegetarian meals as a protest to war and poverty. Each chapter collects surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, then prepares community meals which are served for free to anyone who is hungry.

Check their Facebook page for upcoming events, such as:

Street Boutiques
Clothing Bank Drives
TJ Refugee/Asylum Seeker Donation Collections
Free Markets

Right now there are three houses hosting and serving in SD.

Rebel House preps on Thursdays and serves downtown every week around 6-7pm at 16th & Island unless otherwise noted.
City Heights location preps on Sundays and serves in front of the City Heights Performance Annex on Fairmount & Wightman every week around 5pm unless otherwise noted.
El Cajon shares food at Wells Park every week on Saturday around 4pm unless otherwise noted.

We would love to have more days and areas covered by more houses! We are currently looking for 2-3 dedicated hosts for a weekly serve in Ocean Beach, North County, and Barrio Logan. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a core member!

This group was created to have a space where people currently involved and actively interested in volunteering with SD FNB in one way or another can participate, find out about what’s happening (prep/serve days, meetings, etc.), share ideas or ask questions!

THURSDAYS – Prep 2-5:30pm, Sharing 6pm @ 16th & Island

SATURDAYS – Prep 12-4, Sharing 4-6pm @ Wells Park

SUNDAYS – Prep 1:30-4:30, Sharing 5pm @ Fairmount & Wightman
