Reuse & Repair Collective

The Reuse & Repair Collective, a Zero Waste San Diego project, offers San Diego residents of all skill levels access to tools, repair knowledge, and a hands-on project space where you can learn repair skills, extend the life of your belongings, and connect with neighbors.

Get Involved With The Collective

No experience required! Our space is open whether you’re a complete beginner or have technical skills you’re looking to share with the community.

What’s Inside The Collective

Step inside this unique converted school building in Cortez Hill. All furniture and fixtures have been recovered through government surplus and community donations, so the space itself embodies the reuse principles we teach.

  • Tool Shed: Everything from hammers to specialty repair tools – borrow what you need for your project
  • Sewing Room: Multiple sewing machines and textile repair supplies for clothing and fabric projects
  • Bike Repair Station: Full setup for bicycle maintenance and repairs
  • Community Workshop Area: Open workspace for larger projects and collaborative learning
  • Community Conference Room: Community room available to rent for small groups
  • Upcycling-Focused Crafts: Crafting workshops to show you how to take something old and reuse it in a new way
