Solana Center provides a “library” of garden tools that are available for check out by members of the San Diego County community. The goal of the library is to support San Diego County residents with their garden projects at homes, schools, and community gardens.

Recycling
U-Waste Update: U-waste (light bulbs and batteries) recycling is CLOSED until further notice. Please visit wastefreesd.org to find open u-waste recycling sites.
We can accept the following u-waste items for City of Encinitas residents only:
– Batteries, Household Batteries, Lithium Ion Batteries, and Rechargeable Batteries
– Halogen Light Bulbs, Fluorescent Light Bulbs, and Fluorescent Light Tubes
To prepare your batteries for recycling, Package used batteries in a plastic bag. For added safety, tape over the contact points to prevent accidental shocks. Do not use duct tape for this.
Drop off available Thursdays, 12 – 5 PM, and Saturdays, 9 AM – 1 PM. No appointment is needed! Please see staff at the front door before unloading. To maintain safety for all parties, all unloading must be performed by the customer, staff will not be able to assist.
All customers must log their drop-off by completing the link to the right. A $5 donation is requested in order to help us continue offering this collection program to the community.
