Vista Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility
Services are reserved for residents of the City of Vista, City of Del Mar, City of Encinitas, City of Carlsbad, City of Poway, City of San Marcos, City of Solana Beach, and City of Escondido only.
Please note that City of Escondido residents who call this facility will likely be referred to EDCO Escondido to make an appointment, but their waste will be accepted here if they show up.
Household hazardous waste and electronic waste are accepted.
Railroad Ties are accepted but must be cut down into 4 foot lengths maximum and you cannot bring more than 125 pounds at one time.
Free door-to-door collection service available to residents 65+ or households possessing a registered handicap placard. To schedule the collection, call 800.714.1195. (Note: Pick-up service not available for City of Escondido residents)

Services:
–Drop off every Saturday from 9 AM – 3 PM at 1145 East. Taylor Street, no appointment necessary. Proof of residency is required.
Hours of operation:
-Every Saturday from 9 AM – 3 PM.
Maximum Transportation Limits:
-15 gallons of liquid or 125 pounds total volume of household hazardous waste.
Handling instructions:
-Leave products in the existing container, if possible.
-Ensure lids are on tight so containers will no leak.
-Transport containers in the trunk or in the back of the vehicle away from passengers and pets
-Do not transport over 15 gallons or 125 pounds at one time.
-Containers used for transport must be no larger than a 5 gallon bucket.
Other requirements:
-Bring proof of residency in the form of a drivers license or a utility bill.
-Gasoline needs to be in an approved container, commonly found at auto parts stores. Please note, containers are not returned.
-Needles/sharps should be transported in a rigid, puncture-resistant, tightly-sealed container, including: bleach bottles, liquid detergent bottles, or coffee cans with lids.
-Empty containers can be recycled in your blue bin
