Republic Services Palomar Transfer Station and Recycling Center
Republic Services Palomar Transfer Station has a Buy-Back/Drop-Off Center open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items accepted include source-separated mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, newspaper and white ledger paper. In addition, Carlsbad city residents can drop off electronic waste, sharps, used motor oil and filters, used cooking oil, batteries and cell phones free of charge. Residents can bring California Redemption Value (CRV) bottles and cans in for cash.

- Aluminum and bi-metal beverage cans
- Plastic beverage containers with recycling symbols #1-#7
- non-CRV rigid plastics are not accepted at the Buyback Center, but can be self-hauled to the transfer station for a fee
- Glass beverage bottles/ Wine bottles / Wine cartons
Republic Services also offers simple and convenient sharps disposal services for residents and Republic customer tattoo and piercing shops, home care providers, nursing homes, small medical facilities, veterinary clinics, and more. Please call 760-332-6464 to make a request.

• Proof of residency (ID or waste service bill)
• Container(s) for collecting mulch and/or compost
