Accepted Donations
Please see below for a current list of acceptable items and arrange a drop-off appointment by contacting Darlene Moreno at 619.239.0355 x225 or dmoreno@ywcasandiego.org. Due to limited space and staff availability, please do not deliver donations without an appointment.
Household – New items only
Bedroom – comforters, blankets, pillows, bed linens (twin and full size only)
Bathroom – bath towels, bath mats, shower curtains, soap dispensers
Kitchen/Dining – cookware sets, dinnerware sets, glassware sets, flatware sets, cooking utensils, kitchen towels, toasters, coffee makers
Toiletries – shampoo, body wash, deodorant, razors, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. (full size only, no travel or sample sizes please)
Baby items – baby wipes and diapers (sizes 4 and 5 preferred)
Furniture
Donations of new and gently used furniture must be approved in advance to ensure they will fit in our clients’ homes. Please send a recent photo and dimensions of the item to development@ywcasandiego.org. Due to limited space and staff availability, donations must be delivered by appointment only to our administrative office.
Small dining table with chairs (no glass tops)
Small sofas (vinyl/leather only)
Small dressers
Small cribs and play pens (please do not include mattress unless new)
YWCA is unable to accept the following items:
Used clothing, shoes and accessories
Used blankets, sheets, pillows and towels
Used mattresses
Used household goods
Used children’s toys and stuffed animals
Children’s car seats
Medication
Food
Vehicle donations
Your vehicle donation will generate proceeds to support our domestic violence and homelessness programs. Our partner, Action Donation Services, will handle all the details and provide you with a tax receipt. Learn more about our easy donation process.
