There are several retailers who accept intact and undamaged CFL bulbs for recycling, including The Home Depot. There are also a few online services that allow you to mail in bulbs to be recycled.

To recycle CFLs at The Home Depot:

  • Locate the recycling bin at the entrance of any Home Depot.
  • Place your bulbs in the plastic bags provided and drop them in the bin.
  • There is no charge for recycling.

Once collected at our facilities, soft plastics are sent to our partner who transforms them into a variety of valuable products. These include durable pallets, stylish patio furniture, and deck flooring. This process keeps soft plastics in the use cycle, reducing the need for new material by using products that would have become waste.

If you items are shoebox size or smaller, or can fit into grocery sacks or handle bags, donations can be placed through their front gate at any time.
