Lemon Grove Certified Farmers Market

One of the goals in building the Lemon Grove Farmers Market is to have people check weekly to see what their local farms have brought to them first. Farmers pick what they bring. The eggs, just found and brought to you and the bees are working hard to provide us with fresh local honey (got allergies – a teaspoon of local honey will help).

Little Italy Wednesday Mercato

Similar to the treasured Little Italy Mercato on Saturday, the year-round Little Italy Wednesday Mercato will offer a selection of farm fresh produce, pastured eggs, poultry, meat, fish, baked goods, dips and spreads, yogurt and select local arts and crafts brought to the neighborhood by California farmers, fisherman and artisan foodmakers. The Little Italy Wednesday Mercato occupies three blocks on W. Date St. between Kettner Blvd. and State Street including the Piazza della Famiglia. Shop twice as fresh, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Little Italy farmers markets. Find local farmers offering produce, eggs, honey and flowers. Discover artisan foods and crafts and art by local makers on the beautiful Piazza della Famiglia and surrounding blocks. Farmers markets keep farmers farming.

Carlsbad State Street Certified Farmers’ Market

We are open every Wednesday, think of it as a fresh-air grocery store with a focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, nuts, and honey. And yes, even fresh flowers and plants. There are plenty of artisan food vendors too to round out your shopping experience including bread, granola, yogurt, bone broth, kombucha, fudge, cookies, and more.

People’s Produce @ Mt. Hope Community Garden

Mobile farmers truck bringing fresh, locally grown produce to neighborhoods throughout greater Southeastern San Diego.

The People’s Produce Mobile Farmers Market truck represents a new concept in San Diego farmers markets – one focused on connecting communities to healthy food at accessible locations so they can use their purchasing power to change the food system and develop permanent community assets.

By using an equitable food system model, we will be providing the freshest produce available to our customers while ensuring that local growers and food makers are paid fairly.

Come see why we’re more than just a San Diego farmers market – we’re a good-food grassroots movement that is disrupting the food system in Southeastern San Diego! Join us is creating health and building equity in communities that need it most!

ORGANIC WASTE

Food scraps

Organic waste is a renewable natural resource, and it mainly comes from yard and kitchen waste from homes, food waste, and industrial and commercial operations scraps. Mandatory recycling of organic waste is the next step to achieving California’s Zero Waste goals.

Recycling organics is easy and convenient with EDCO’s commingled Organics Recycling program. EDCO has expanded its source-separated green waste collection to include recycling food waste. The service will allow customers to place food scraps in the same container as green waste. EDCO’s new Organics Recycling program is a foundation for your community to achieve State mandates, including AB 1826, AB 1594, and SB 1383, which are directly related to organics recycling in the State of California.
