Rent A Dumpster – Fill it with Trash/Junk & We Will Pick It Up!

Rock, Concrete & Asphalt

These materials can be ground up and used as aggregate in concrete or as road base. We can legally haul up to 10 tons. These loads may not include trash, vegetation (including roots), plastic liner, wood, etc. The unwanted materials may result in a clean-up fee that may be more than the original agreed upon price; these materials may also result in the load being treated as a trash load which may double the recycle price.

Green Loads

Tree trimmings and yard waste are ground up and used as mulch.

Unacceptable items include:

  • Trash,
  • Root balls,
  • Succulents (examples include ice plant, jade & cactus),
  • Fibrous trees and plants because they don’t grind up well (examples include palm trees, coral tree, palm fronds & yucca)
  • Trunks greater than 4 feet in length,
  • Processed wood,
  • Dirt

Wood Loads

Lumber may be recycled.  Incidental nails and bolts are acceptable. Restrictions include:

  • No paint, varnish, stain or other treatment of the lumber.
  • No composite lumber such as plywood or fiberboard.  The glue used in these products make them non-recyclable.
  • No metal hardware such as hinges, elbows, bracket, etc.

Metal Loads

Metals can be recycled as long as they are free of trash. We charge a haul rate and refund or credit your account for the proceeds of the metal sale (supported by a copy of the recycler’s receipt). Mixed metals usually receive a lower price per ton than separated metals.

Sod Loads

Sod is the top layer of grass, roots and incidental dirt. Sod may be recycle if there is no trash.

Complete Recycling

Complete Recycling was acquired by Northstar Recycling.  This company offers a single point of contact for business waste and recycling needs. Northstar Recycling manages recycling, food waste, non-sellable product, and complete zero waste to landfill programs for companies across North America. We specialize in serving manufacturing and distribution facilities, and offer clients a single point of contact for all waste streams, donation programs, resale opportunities, and equipment needs. San Diego Electronics Recycling

Businesses throughout San Diego County routinely go through a process of modernization of technical and computer equipment. In order to meet the rigorous demands of a global marketplace, companies must continuously invest in faster computers, higher-resolution video monitors and other devices that can increase employee efficiency and overall performance. When companies modernize and upgrade equipment they must also remove out-dated equipment from their facilities. With California law strictly prohibiting the unlawful disposal of electrical waste, San Diego Electronics Recycling can offer the e-waste solution by providing reliable collection of electrical systems such as:

  • scanners
  • cellular phones
  • video monitors
  • lap tops
  • CPUs
  • hard drives
  • computers
  • servers

San Diego Electronics Recycling takes every precaution to carefully collect e-waste, and then utilizes the most basic principles of eco-friendly behaviors: reuse or recycle. After collecting e-waste from a business free of charge, San Diego Electronics Recycling will first try and find other businesses, charities or non-profit organizations that could simply reuse the collected electrical equipment. If the equipment is in poor shape and cannot be reused, San Diego Electronics Recycling will then proceed to safely recycle the potentially hazardous and toxic material and electrical components.

Collection of computers, servers and other business electrical devices is a free service offered exclusively to businesses throughout San Diego County and neighboring areas in Southern California.

With your help combined with the free collection services of San Diego Electrical Recycling, we can work together and contribute to making San Diego County clean and free of hazardous e-waste.

Valley Center Library

Did you know you can safely recycle your batteries for free by taking them to 14 San Diego County Library branches?

That’s right, the library. It’s not just for books; it’s for batteries too!

Just bring them to the battery drop-off bins located inside the 14 branches. The libraries primarily collect standard alkaline batteries — Cs, Ds, AAs, AAAs, 9-volts, you name it. But they can also take rechargeable batteries; lithium batteries must be bagged separately.

Please tape positive end of batteries to reduce flammability and place batteries in a resealable bag.

Donated Materials Policy

The San Diego County Library is no longer accepting physical donations of materials for the collection, with the exception of items produced by local authors or musicians.

The Library purchases materials at steep discounts that come with labels, barcodes and covers, ready for customer use. It is more expensive to accept a donation and prepare it for circulation than it is for the Library to purchase a title that comes prepared by our vendors. If you would like to support the Library’s collection, we encourage you to donate funds for the purchase of physical and digital materials for our communities.

If you are looking for an organization to donate your books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, or magazines to, consider contacting one of the organizations below:

Your Branch Friends of the Library
Many branch Friends of the Library groups accept book donations for their book sales. Please check their websites or phone ahead to ensure that your donation can be accepted at this time. Items donated to the Friends of the Library are sold to support San Diego County Library branch collections and events.
